B&B "Tra boschi e mare" - Stazzo Bugnuneddu
The apartment of the B&B has been made out of a typical Gallura "Stazzo".
The “Stazzo” previously was a characteristic countryhouse built in granite blocks in sight at the end of the XIX century, according to the traditional criteria (located on a ridge, wind-shed, next to a well, east or north-east exposed)
It consists of two original parts and third one added later on. The house has been restored preserving the original features of the building itself and the harmonious relation with the surrounding landscape. The new volume typology follows the same pattern of the older ones.
Bugnuneddu in the local dialect means small wild beehive.
Our country house, though it’s modernly outfitted, is suitable for nature lovers, that after a day spent at the seaside or tracking, will please the fresh night breeze among the woods, away from the crowds and the noise.
The house and the vegetable garden are surrounded by 8 hectares of holm oak and cork woods and mediterranean bushes. Here and there around the house you will find granite blocks emerging from the bushes, if you climb on the top of them you will admire the beautiful landscape and your eyes will run from the “Bocche di Bonifacio”, the strait between Sardinia and Corsica, thru the surrounding Gallura valleys to the San Pantaleo Mounts and Limbara Mount.
A wide range of trail surround the house for nice walks, that will let you dive deep in the wild nature.
The house is located in the countryside, 9 km from the sea. From the house you can reach easily other towns with plenty of facilities and many bars and restorants: Aglientu is 7 km away, Luogosanto 13 km, S.Teresa di Gallura 20 km, Rena Maiore 9 km.
Beautiful long sand beaches (Naracu Nieddu, Monte Russu, Rena di Matteo, Rena Maiore) and charming smaller rocky ones (Lu Caloni, Lu Muntigghione, Cala Pischina), are just 15-20 minutes away by car on a blacktop road. There, all thru the year you will find the clearest water, beautiful sea depths and amazing landscape of an untouched nature.
The owners, Horia and Massimo, themselves live there and run the house according ecological criteria, aimed at waste and pollution reduction:
- Independent water supply (well and tank for the house supply, artificial slope reservoir for vegetable garden)
- Independent sewage disposal plant (ricycling water for vegetable garden)
- Differentiate garbage collection, organic part directly transformed in compost for agriculture use (in the house vegetable garden)
- Biological vegetable garden policy
- Prunings and underwoods cleanings are use to heat the house
